The Hyundai Santa Fe is all-new for the 2024 model year, and there are plenty of new features to get excited about, from a third row of seating and a larger tailgate opening to a pair of side-by-side wireless charging pads and upgraded phone as key technology. But what trim do you need to spring for in order to get these new features? As your Hyundai dealer near Fall River, we’re here to help you understand the lineup of this redesigned midsize SUV so you can pick the one that’s just right for your needs.

A New Modern Body

Compared to the 2023 model, the 2024 Santa Fe is larger, with a longer wheelbase, higher roofline, and wider rear opening in the back. This change applies across all trim levels, providing more cargo space and making it easier to transport bulky items like furniture and kitchen appliances. It also allows the Santa Fe to offer a standard third row of seating, which is sure to be a welcome change for Fall River families who want to be able to accommodate large groups in a single vehicle. The SUV also has a modern new look that’s sure to impress onlookers, whether you’re driving around town or heading out into nature to clear your head.

SE

Many of the interior upgrades new for the 2024 model year apply to every trim of the Santa Fe, so you’ll get them standard even on the affordable SE trim. The shift lever has been moved to the steering column, leaving room for a more spacious center console and cupholders up front. Thanks to a lid with a clever dual-hinged design, that center console can be accessed from either the first or second row. There are also a pair of high-power USB charge ports up front and a second pair in the second row.

The infotainment system gets an upgrade too. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are now standard on the SE trim, so you don’t need a cord to connect your phone to the Santa Fe’s interface. That interface now includes a large 12.3-inch touchscreen that makes it easy to see camera views and important information at a glance. The software behind the screen can get smarter over time, thanks to over-the-air updates.

SEL

The SEL is the lowest trim level that comes with the new Digital Key 2 feature. The 2023 Santa Fe already allowed you to use your phone as a key, but this upgraded version is more convenient. It allows you to open the door without taking your phone out of your pocket and allows remote features to work at further distances. Other tech upgrades you get at the SEL level include LED turn-signal indicators built into the side mirrors, a single wireless charging pad, and dual-zone automatic climate control.

The SEL also offers extra creature comforts, like an eight-way power-adjustable driver seat with two-way power lumbar and heated front seats. And Hyundai hasn’t forgotten those in the very back—they benefit from third-row HVAC vents that keep them warm during New England winters and cool during summer humidity. In all three rows, the seats get a material upgrade from cloth to classy and easy-to-clean H-Tex. Up top, roof rails come standard to help you transport everything from kayaks to Christmas trees.

XRT

The XRT trim gets a significant makeover for the 2024 model year. It still has the things that made it stand out from other trims in 2023, like black exterior badges, roof rails, and other accents, but now it has an extra dose of off-road capability. It comes standard with a set of all-terrain tires and gets 1.3 inches of extra ground clearance compared to other trims, so it can glide over obstacles with ease. It also has a towing capacity of 4,500 lbs, putting it 1,000 lbs ahead of the other 2024 trims and all of the 2023 trims. The XRT also comes standard with all-wheel drive, which is optional on other trims. This capability is fantastic if you like to spend your summers enjoying the natural wonders of New England and can also come in handy in urban areas during snowstorms.

Storing cargo on the roof saves you precious interior space, but it can be difficult to reach, especially if you’re not particularly tall. The new C-pillar assist handle makes reaching the roof way easier. When not in use, it blends right into the exterior. But when you need it, you can push in the protective flap and get the leverage you need to hoist objects up. This feature is standard on the XRT and Calligraphy trims.

Limited

One of the most unique new features is standard on the Limited trim and up. The UV-C sanitizer compartment is located above the glove compartment and lets you use UV-C light to kill germs lurking on your smartphone, wallet, or other small objects, giving you another tool in the fight against flu season. This trim also features a new 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. Together, the instrument cluster and touchscreen form a curved panoramic display oriented toward the driver that lets you see vital information easily so you can glance at it quickly and get your eyes back on the road.

You don’t need to zero in on new-for-2024 features to find plenty of upgrades that make the Limited trim worth considering. The interior features leather-appointed seats, a six-way power-adjustable passenger seat, and an upgraded driver seat with memory and four-way power lumbar. You can conquer any weather Massachusetts throws your way with ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, and a heated steering wheel. Keep glare at bay with an auto-dimming rearview mirror up front and rear side sunshades for passengers in the back. Backseat passengers will also appreciate having a pair of USB charge ports in the third row. Everyone in the cabin can enjoy extras like ambient lighting, a Bose premium audio system, and a dual-pane sunroof that lets in natural light and gorgeous views.

Calligraphy

The top-tier Calligraphy trim lets you drive through The Scholarship City feeling like the valedictorian. The seats are appointed with premium Nappa leather for a luxurious look and feel, and the second-row bench seats are replaced with power-reclining captain’s chairs that are perfect for long road trips up and down the eastern seaboard. New for 2024, the driver seat gets an extendable leg rest that can come in handy on long drives since it can help you sit back and relax at rest stops. Instead of a single wireless charging pad, this trim gets a pair of side-by-side chargers, so both you and your front passenger can charge your devices without getting tangled up in a bunch of cables.

In addition to the pair of curved displays from the Limited, the Calligraphy has two additional displays that help you keep track of your surroundings on the road. A 12-inch head-up display projects directly onto the lower windshield. You can see right through it, so you don’t have to take your eyes off the road for even a fraction of a second when using it to check your speed, navigation directions, or other information. The rearview mirror can also switch between being a traditional mirror and a display for a rearview camera that offers a wider view of the road—one that can’t be obstructed by tall backseat passengers or a full cargo area.
